Eliyahu M. Goldratt & Jeff Cox - North River Press, 1984.

Known by the title "The Goal - A Process of Ongoing Improvement," the book that we offer for reading, and of which we have procured the last copies available in Italian, is a world best seller of managerial literature, with more than 7 million copies sold worldwide.

The book "L'Obiettivo" represents a fundamental reading for modern managers to begin to understand under a new perspective what is necessary to do and what not to do to allow companies to leap in their performance.

REVIEWS: THEY SAID ABOUT THE BOOK

"A survey of managers' reading habits found that although they buy Tom Peters books for display purposes, the only management book they have actually read through is The Goal."

-The Economist

"After 35 years, The Goal is still essential reading for managers and entrepreneurs."

-Forbes

"The Goal is one of the three mandatory readings Jeff Bezos requires of his executives."

-Business Insider

STORY

The Goal is not the ordinary technical management book full of formulas and diagrams. Goldratt has written a brilliant novel that flows smoothly and at a fast pace to capture the reader.

The book narrates a process that we could define as "catharsis" of the protagonist, Alex Rogo, a plant manager who, like many of his colleagues, is used to putting out fires daily, juggling unstable equilibriums: a character in which managers can quickly identify.

Alex is shocked when his boss, Bill Peach, VP of the Division, assigns him an unachievable goal with a highly challenging deadline.

To find the solution to the challenge, Alex must change all the old paradigms to new ones based on the Theory of Constraints principles, which will offer him a new point of view and a new way of thinking that will reveal the direction of the solution.
