About the event
It is widely believed that uncertainty is the most important, if not the main, cause of the problems that plague most projects: delays in promised delivery dates, compromises on specifications, and overbudgeting.
If uncertainty were the only cause of problems, it should be sufficient to put in place safeguards (known in the jargon as “time buffers”) to immunize projects against most unforeseen events.
However, experience shows that most of the time, buffers, and therefore safeguards, are wasted due to certain obstacles that obstruct the flow of projects.
